Transitional Living Skills Training – Lafaye Boys Home RTC
At Lafaye Boys Home RTC, we incorporate Transitional Living Skills Training as an essential component of each resident’s individualized treatment plan. Our program is designed to equip youth with the practical knowledge and real-world skills necessary to successfully transition into adulthood and independent living. Residents participate in structured learning opportunities that focus on personal finance and financial literacy, including budgeting, saving, understanding banking systems, responsible spending, and basic credit awareness. In addition, youth receive guidance in independent living skills such as meal planning and preparation, grocery shopping, laundry, cleaning, time management, and personal organization. The program also emphasizes educational and career readiness, supporting residents with study skills, goal setting, job readiness training, and career exploration activities. Through consistent instruction and hands-on practice, Lafaye Boys Home helps youth develop decision-making skills, personal responsibility, and effective communication, empowering them with the confidence and life skills needed to become stable, productive, and self-sufficient members of their communities.
